One of the biggest reasons I joined Manus Dental was the fact that I get to work with many other colleagues in the same facility. As a former solo dentist I soon found out that it was all consuming and sometimes solitary being a full time clinician and trying to manage all of the administrative aspects of my practice.

I love dentistry; I just don’t love the business end of it. I found myself taking my work home with me every night. I would worry about everything from where all my invoices paid to did we order everything we need to have my receivables been taken care of. I knew early on in my career that I needed a balance between my personal and professional life. Now with Manus, when my work day is finished I know I’m done, not going home taking care of business.

I also enjoy working at Manus because of the continuing education that is offered through the Manus Institute. I think it’s a goal for every dentist to continue to learn as we get older. But it’s a real investment-it’s a big investment. Here I have access to all of the training classes I always wanted to take and I can attend them for free. That has been very important and it has helped grow my practice even more.

I also love the fact that I have freedom here. There is a community of professionals at Manus and although there are commonalities in how we treat our patients I have the opportunity to treat my patients the way that I feel they need to be treated. So even though we are under one umbrella as far as administrative support goes, each individual doctor has the opportunity to practice the way they want to.

I love the fact that I get the best of both worlds; administrative support from Manus with the freedom to manage my patients based on their individual needs and what is best for them in my opinion as a dentist.

The main reason I joined Manus was that I never really had the aspirations to take on an entire practice by myself. I love dentistry, but I was never interested in the administrative aspect. I just didn’t feel that it was something I wanted to put all of my time and energy into.

The great thing about this group is that I get to come to work every day and do what I love to do, and that’s the dentistry. At the end of the day I don’t have to worry about the small things and that is why Manus was a great fit for me.

I also love the team atmosphere here. I get to work with a lot of specialists where before I just worked in a general practice. I worked in a small boutique practice before and all we were able to provide patients was basic and cosmetic dentistry. So, it’s really nice here at Manus because we are able to provide comprehensive care. When one of my patients has to see a specialist I’m there the day of their procedure. The specialist can call me to the chair and say “Sara, does this look like enough room for you to fabricate a crown” or “is this the symmetry you need for this case?” I believe that this leads to better continuity of care and more favorable patient outcomes. The patients also like it because they don’t have to go between multiple offices for their case.

The continuing education is also great. I used to spend $10-$15K per year on different classes I wanted to take. So being here is a great opportunity to attend all of those classes without having to come out of my own pocket. This enables me to learn the newest techniques, to become more effective and more efficient with my time so that I can provide my patients with the best care which at the end of the day is the most important thing.
